GOLF: Danbury advances to regional tournament

The Danbury Lady Panthers finished second at the District 29-2A tournament on Thursday at Rio Colorado in Bay City.
Lady Panther Brittany Bailey shot a 104 to finish second overall, behind district champ Yanessa Longoria from Tidehaven, who shot a 97.
Danbury shot a 493 to advance to the regional tournament. Boling was first with a 483.
Also placing for the Lady Panthers were Alicia Stolte (122), Courtney Hariston (131) and Macy Peltier (136). Allyn Ryan shot a 143.
In boys competition, the Danbury A-team finished fifth with a 436, and the B-team wound up in seventh with a 468. Boling’s A and B teams both advanced with scores of 354 and 396, respectively.

A-team were Sean Bruemmer (100), Brenden Starr (102), Ryan Wendell (109), Brad Griffin (125) and Jeff Walters (126).
Playing for the Danbury
B-team were Matt Hairston (106), Jack Marek (115), Justin Crumrine (121), Hunter Fillip (126) and Lawton Lander (137).
